How to forward google alerts for efficiency

How to Forward in Gmail

As a part of the sales office set up, a Google My Business page will be set up by Bonfire (you may need to request this). Whlie Bonfire looks after the set up and optimising the business page, the reviews are sent to cedarwoods1@gmail.com (verification code for logins etc are sent to Matt's phone), and you may wish to forward the reviews to your state's marketing email to avoid having to check the gmail inbox everyday in case you need to respond to reviews.

Adding forwarding email

To set up forwarding to your state's marketing inbox, first add the email you're forwarding to into the gmail account setting:

You'll see a pop up asking you to verify, reach out to Matt when this screen pops up and give him the code.
Once the verification is completed on Google's end, the email you have added (the cedarwoods.com.au email) will get a confirmation email, make sure you click confirm.

Creating a Filter

Once a forwarding email is set up, you can create a filter on gmail.

A filter on Gmail is basically a search feature that pulls up emails that matches search criteria.

For the purpose of forwarding any email that references your project, you can use a simple 'Project OR Project OR Project' style search feature on the subject line.

Ensure you use Boolean search methods for effectiveness. If you would like to forward specific types of emails only, you can set up a filter accordingly.

Once you have your search fields inputted, click CREATE FILTER.

Once you click CREATE FILTER, a box will pop up with what you would like to do with the matches:

Have a skim of the search results to make sure they matches what you're looking for, then choose 'FORWARD IT TO', and use the drop down to select the email you have added as a forwarding address.

Click CREATE FILTER AGAIN.

You're now done!

You can run a test by emailing the gmail account with a subject line referencing your project (or whatever filter set up you have made), and test whether the email did forward to the destination.
